Friends of the School (Parents' Association)
Cairde na Scoile in Scoil na nÓg was established in 2025. Cairde na Scoile, or Friends of the School, is the Parents’ Association, formed to strengthen the connection between home and school life.
The association plays a pivotal role in fostering a sense of community, supporting school initiatives, and enhancing the overall experience for both children and parents.
The School Council
The School Council is committed to representing the voices of the pupils. We work together to create a positive and inclusive school environment, to address student concerns, and to plan events that enhance our school community.
Join us to make a difference!
The Green Committee
In the Green Committee in Scoil na nÓg, we work hard to preserve our environment and raise awareness about the importance of sustainability.
We often organize litter pick days to keep our school and surrounding area clean.
Every child at school has a Leap card and when possible, we use the public bus instead of booking private buses to reduce our carbon footprint.
A group of students are responsible for monitoring recycling, waste and composting in the school. They ensure that recyclables are being placed in the correct bins and that the composting system is being used properly to reduce waste.
We conduct a school survey to identify the most littered areas, and create posters around the school to raise awareness. We encourage students and teachers to plan to reduce their use of single-use plastics and switch to more sustainable options.
Through all of these activities, we are encouraging positive change among students and the community, and creating a culture of caring for the environment in the school.
The Active Committee
This school year we are working towards achieving the active flag. The active committee is busy organising activities at the moment.
We are currently taking on the challenge of the active breaks which are organised by the active committee. We have an active path where we learn actively.
We will have many events in hand between now and the end of the year.
